COVID-19 Update

**COVID-19 Update** as of 3/19/2020

At Animal Emergency Medical Center, the health and well-being of your pet, family, and our team members are top priority. As the situation around coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we want to assure you that we plan to remain open during our regular business hours and will be taking the following precautions:

  • We are only offering concierge service at this time. We are asking that you please remain in your vehicle and call us when you arrive at 310-325-3000. A team member will speak with you regarding your visit and can direct you on the next steps. Please bring your dogs on a leash and cats in carriers.
  • All triage and exams will be done while you wait outside of our hospital.
  • We can offer payments to be made over the phone.
  • We are increasing the frequency of our rigid cleaning and disinfecting protocols.
  • Employees who feel ill will be instructed to stay home and contact their doctor. No employee that has a fever of >100.4 will be allowed to remain at work.
  • If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms or have a fever or if you have been in contact with anyone that has had a fever or possible COVID-19 exposure, please send a proxy with your pet and ensure we have a way of contacting you to discuss care with our team.

It is important to note that there is currently no evidence that pets can become sick with COVID-19. Infectious disease experts, as well as the CDC, OIE, and WHO indicate there is also no evidence to suggest that pet dogs or cats can be a source of infection with SARS-CoV-2, including spreading COVID-19 to people. More investigation is underway and, as we learn more, we will update you.
